ASTES is a multi‑tiered organization delivering a broad spectrum of activities—from publishing original research and hosting presentations at our annual congress to providing hands‑on training and certification courses.
The Society’s framework ensures members have access to a full suite of academic and professional development resources in trauma management and beyond.
The Albanian Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (AJTES) is a peer‑reviewed, open‑access biannual publication devoted to the latest advances in acute care. We select up to 60 manuscripts—including original research, systematic reviews and clinical case reports—and subject them to a rigorous double‑blind review overseen by our international editorial board. AJTES reaches a wide network of clinicians, educators and researchers, helping to translate new findings into improved patient outcomes.

The Albanian Congress of Trauma and Emergency Medicine (ACTES) is a two‑day annual symposium held every November since 2016, bringing together clinicians, researchers and educators to advance the science and practice of acute care.

The Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS) Course in Albania is the only program officially accredited by the American College of Surgeons, delivered biannually in small cohorts of 16 participants over an intensive 2.5‑day curriculum.
Certified ATLS instructors guide interactive, case‑driven seminars that explore critical decision‑making and evidence‑based trauma protocols.
Through realistic simulation stations, students practice essential procedures—airway management, hemorrhage control and rapid trauma assessment—to build confidence and competence.
